The MoDev $10K App Contest

Great news for Windows Phone and Windows 8 developers! If you develop a new app or game for the Windows Store or Windows Phone Store, submitted between October 1st and December 31st, 2013, you can enter the MoDev $10K App Contest, and compete for up to $2,500 for a first-place finish!

There are two categories of winners, one set selected by a judging panel, and another set selected by public voting on qualifying apps. For each category, first place gets $2,500, second place gets $1,500, and third place gets $1,000. Full details here.

And to celebrate the kickoff of the contest, I'll be doing a special presentation at the MoDevDC meetup this Monday, November 4th at 8pm, in McLean, VA. I'll be providing an overview of the Windows Store development platform, and both Microsoft and 3rd-party tools you can use to develop compelling apps and games for the Windows Store, including demos.

So if you could use some extra cash around the holidays, or just want to find out more about developing for the Windows Store, RSVP for the meetup.
